J. David Gainey, D.D.S., D. Perio., F.R.C.D.(C)

Dr. David Gainey received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto, in 1983. After completing a one year hospital based residency and one year of general practice, Dr. Gainey decided to pursue his specialty training in Periodontics. In 1987, Dr. Gainey completed the Periodontal and Implant Graduate Program at the University of Toronto. He spent seventeen years in the Toronto area in full-time clinical practice specializing in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. During that time he worked as a part-time clinical instructor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. In 2003, he became a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Gainey is a board certified Periodontist, who is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases, as well as the reconstruction of lost teeth, with dental implants. Dr. Gainey utilizes the latest in 3D imaging and CAD/CAM technology to provide precise and predictable implant reconstruction. He is a member of the Dental Specialists Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Academy of Periodontology, the Canadian Dental Association, the British Columbia Society of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Academy of Osseous Integration.

In 2004, Dr. Gainey and his family moved to Kelowna to establish the Okanagan Periodontal and Implant Centre. In his leisure time, Dr. Gainey enjoys spending time with his wife Tera, and their three children.  He also enjoys the natural beauty of the Okanagan valley, and is actively involved in a number of outdoor activities including, running, biking, swimming, golfing, skiing, and hiking.
